About the Artist

RAMONA CLAYTON has been making pottery since 1990 when she started working on her friend's wheel at her farm in Germany. Since returning to California in 2004, she has worked exclusively with stoneware and porcelain. Every piece of terramonary pottery is handcrafted individually from ball of clay to kiln, with attention to form and detail.

"My ceramic work is an expression of the joy and happiness my life is blessed with. It is a reflection of my experiences and encounters with Nature. Each of my "pots" represent one moments possibility on the path from "formless" to "useful".

Each pot is wheel- thrown, glazed, and fired to cone-10, using Ramona's own glaze recipes and original designs to ensure one-of-a-kind quality. She features both stoneware and porcelain functional and decorative pieces. Her original handcrafted work is food- oven- microwave- and dishwasher- safe. Strong and long lasting, these pieces are intended for daily use.
